Ah – the joys of Canadian weather! Today was sunny, 5°C, with dry roads and almost no wind, so I got out for a new year’s ride – just a day late!
One of the great things about KAATSU is the ability to use it to recover from athletic activities. The patented KAATSU Cycle is an automated, rhythmic, compression and decompression mode that helps flush metabolic waste and helps the muscles recover faster post-exercise. I really enjoy how it makes my body feel after intense exercise, and even after a light ride like this, it’s really noticeable how good my legs feel afterwards.
If you’re an exercising type who’s active on social media, you’ve probably seen whole-leg systems that do something similar. From what I’ve seen, those systems work, but you have to remain stationary while the machine does its work. As you can see in the photo above, you can wear the KAATSU system and walk around while it does its thing. This means you can start your recovery immediately after working out. You don’t have to wait until you have time to sit down somewhere to put on a compression system.
A friend’s son is a baseball pitcher who uses KAATSU during the ride home from games. He reports that his arm feels really good after using KAATSU, and his dad thinks it’s great that his son can get the benefits of KAATSU recovery without having to wait until they get home – because the drive home can take several hours.
I know there are many professional athletes who use KAATSU for their strength training, recovery, and rehabilitation. While I’m no pro, at least I can recover like one! 🙂 Using KAATSU for recovery will help my body be ready for another ride tomorrow – as long as our Canadian winter keeps behaving like a lamb instead of a lion.
