KAATSU B1 Wearable Device (1 Pair)

These wearable devices are for use with both the KAATSU B1 Arm and Leg Air Bands. They are controlled by the KAATSU B1 Android and iOS apps that you can download free to your Android or iPhone. The KAATSU B1 system enables total freedom of movement as there are no connector tubes. It's lightweight, portable, and works without an internet connection in case you are out of cellular range.

Arm Band Sizing: For the correct size, measure the circumference of your upper arm above your triceps and biceps, just below the deltoid.

Leg Band Sizing: For the correct size, sit on the edge of a chair and measure the circumference of your upper leg, along your groin, as high in the groin as possible.

The KAATSU B1 allows you to use all the various KAATSU modes AND gives you full freedom of movement. Now, instead of needing air hoses, the KAATSU B1 has built-in Bluetooth-enabled compressors that are worn directly on your arm and leg bands. In addition to this cordless convenience, the new KAATSU B1 app (available for free in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store) captures and archives your KAATSU usage data so it can be shared with your physician, therapist, coach, teammates, or friends as needed. The app also integrates with the Masimo MightySat® Finger Pulse Oximeter to record your real-time pulse rate, oxygen saturation (SpO2), and other data.

The KAATSU B1 wearable devices come with a 1-year warranty. KAATSU B1 Air Bands have a 6-month warranty. You can purchase an optional extended warranty on KAATSU B1 wearable devices to give you an additional year of warranty.

KAATSU is considered generally safe, but there are contraindications you should be aware of. You should consult your physician or other health care professional to help you determine whether KAATSU use is right for your unique needs.

KAATSU Contraindications

The contraindications to KAATSU use are largely the same as the contraindications to exercise as recommended by the American Heart Association. These are:

Acute myocardial infarction (MI / “heart attack”), within 2 days
Ongoing unstable angina
Uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmia with hemodynamic compromise
Active endocarditis
Symptomatic severe aortic stenosis
Decompensated heart failure
Acute pulmonary embolism, pulmonary infarction, or deep vein thrombosis
Acute myocarditis or pericarditis
Acute aortic dissection
Physical disability that precludes safe and adequate exercise

In addition, to be safe, people with an acute infection, unclear tumour status, acute vena cava dissociation, macular degeneration, chronic lymphedema, pregnancy, or severe hypertension (Systolic >180 or Diastolic >110) should also avoid using KAATSU. We also recommend that children under age 14 do not use KAATSU.

KAATSU B1 App

The app enables different applications – each which can customized to meet your goals:

KAATSU’s unique, patented, and original Standard Cycle Mode
KAATSU’s patented and traditional Constant Mode
KAATSU’s unique, patented, and new Progressive Cycle Mode

Each session is recorded, allowing you to track and share your usage with physicians, coaches, physical therapists, trainers, teammates, family, and friends.

Data Archiving

Individual session data records and archives the following:

Date and time of use
Mode: Standard Cycle, Progressive Cycle, or Constant
Position (arms or legs)
SKU pressure (both Standard and Customized) within the KAATSU Air Bands
Total duration of use

If the Masimo MightySat Finger Pulse Oximeter is used, your SpO2 and pulse rate every 2 minutes are also recorded.

Three KAATSU Modes

Choose your preferred mode:

Standard Cycle
Constant
New Progressive Cycle

Once you’ve selected your mode, then choose the positioning of your bands.

KAATSU Cycle Mode

In the KAATSU Cycle Mode, you can cycle (30 seconds on, 5 seconds off) at different pressures (low, medium, or high) and select your preferred number of sets (up to 6 consecutive sets). Each set is approximately 5 minutes in length.

You can also customize your pressure levels and duration of use. The Cycle Mode is the one we recommend for all users and should always be the first set for more advanced users. It’s ideal for your warm-up and cool-down.

The Cycle Mode benefits Performance, Wellness, Recovery, and Rehabilitation.

Advanced Modes

Within KAATSU Advanced, you can select between the new Progressive Cycle or Constant Modes.

New Progressive Cycle

In the new KAATSU Progressive Cycle Mode, the SKU pressure is increased by 10 SKU per step. There are 16 steps per Cycle in the new Progressive Mode, compared to 8 steps in traditional Cycle Mode.

The Progressive Mode is recommended for experienced users.

KAATSU Progressive Mode can benefit Recovery, Rehabilitation, Performance, and Wellness.

Constant Mode

In KAATSU Constant Mode, the B1 will hold a set pressure in the Air Bands. You can set your preferred duration for your session. You can also select different SKU pressures for each limb.

Constant is recommended for the most experienced users who wish to do intense or complicated exercises for up to a maximum of 10 minutes.

Recommended for Performance and Rehabilitation.

Full Control

Each Mode has the option to pause, resume, and stop the inflation of the KAATSU Air Bands as you wish.

Optional Oximeter

KAATSU B1 integrates the Masimo MightySat® Finger Pulse Oximeter so you can capture and archive your pulse rate, respiratory rate, and perfusion index data in real time.

You can share this information and other usage data with your physicians, physical therapists, trainers, coaches, teammates, family, and friends as needed.
