Spring has sprung. The weather’s getting nicer, or at least nice enough for people to start doing things they haven’t done in a while. In other words, it’s “weekend warrior” season.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary:
weekend warrior – noun: a person who participates in a usually physically strenuous activity only on weekends or part-time.
In other words, we should generally expect that come Monday there will be myriad people enjoying sore muscles, aching joints, and probably a range of other unpleasant sensations. These folks probably could benefit from KAATSU.
Why KAATSU?
Let’s be honest. Most people don’t warm up for activities like they should. Especially weekend warrior types. Enter KAATSU. In Cycle mode, KAATSU increases circulation in theĀ limbs and throughout the body. The engorgement and relaxation created by the KAATSU Air Bands repeatedly pushes more blood through the smallest capillaries in the limb, helping to prepare the body for more physical effort. Using KAATSU while getting ready for an activity is an easy way to warm up and help reduce your risk of injury.
Post-Effort KAATSU
The same Cycle mode that helps provide a good warm up can also help with recovery after activity. The increase in circulation caused by KAATSU’s Cycle mode helps push more oxygen and healing nutrients to tired and sore muscles. KAATSU’s been shown to reduce levels of C-Reactive Protein, a marker of inflammation in the body. I have noticed that I don’t use NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) after hard martial arts workouts. I use KAATSU instead.
For all you weekend warriors, I hope you’ll consider giving KAATSU a try. Proper warm-ups and recovery will go a long way to help you enjoy your favourite activities even more, and will perhaps even help you do them longer. Whatever your game, KAATSU might be the game-changer you never knew you needed.
However, you enjoy it, I hope you all have a safe, happy, and healthy Easter long weekend!
