While KAATSU is generally considered safe for people of all ages, KAATSU protocols state youth under the age of 14 should avoid using KAATSU.
This recommendation is due to a small number of overly ambitious adults who push children too much, too hard, or too long with KAATSU.
If you are considering using use KAATSU with a person under the age of 14, you should first have a discussion with their physician about whether KAATSU is appropriate for them. There is no physiological reason why youth can not use KAATSU. The precautions in the protocols are there fundamentally to discourage overtraining.
