Well, we won’t be there in time for cherry blossom season, but we’re now making plans to go to Japan!
The main reason we’ll be going is to attend the Sportec sports trade show being held at the beginning of August in Tokyo. Dr. Sato will be there for the show and we’ll also have the benefit of having Steven Munatones, CEO of KAATSU Global, in attendance so we will have a translator. My Japanese is passable for low-key daily conversation, but when it comes to discussions about physiology, my vocabulary is severely deficient.
I’m also told that some of the researchers who did the original research on KAATSU will be available to meet us. This is another fascinating area of KAATSU’s history that I’d like to learn more about. Since 2023 is the 50th anniversary of KAATSU’s clinical use, I’m extra excited to be meeting Dr. Sato and his team.
We’re also getting in touch with KAATSU facilities across Japan, setting up visits with them so we can see how they’re delivering KAATSU training to their clients. From what I’ve seen, it’s quite interesting how small fitness training centres are using KAATSU to provide “big-gym” results in a small area.
While we’re in Japan, I plan to keep the blog and our social media feeds regularly updated with information, so I hope you’ll be able to follow along!
27 sleeps! I’m so excited!!!!! 🙂Â
It was very nice to review and reconnect myself to the time we spent together at Canfitpro last year Mark after you spoke with Jane today, and to consider anyways we might find mutual benefit through collaboration. Have a great trip to Japan. My wife Connie and I attended Medical Japan last October in Tokyo. Safe travels.
