Long-time KAATSU users report that KAATSU has helped them improve their sleep quality. KAATSU protocols suggest to new users that if you’re just starting out with KAATSU and are only using it once a day that you use it within an hour of going to sleep. That’s because KAATSU has a relaxing effect on the body and can help you sleep better.
KAATSU is also being investigated as a possible way to reduce the symptoms of jet lag when changing time zones. The physiological mechanisms that KAATSU affects are theorized to have an effect on your body’s internal clock. KAATSU use before your flight, during your flight, and upon arrival in the new time zone seems to have a positive effect on resetting your circadian rhythm to help you adjust to your new time zone faster.
For those who want to improve their sleep quality, it is suggested that you use KAATSU passively in Cycle mode. That is, you shouldn’t work out with KAATSU as that will excite your body instead of relaxing it. Low pressures are fine. Doing some light stretching and light isometrics while using KAATSU can also be helpful.
Below is a video of KAATSU Global CEO Steven Munatones on Steve Stavs’ “The Made to Thrive Show”. Steven is explaining how KAATSU improves sleep quality by improving vascular elasticity. If you want to sleep like a baby, consider adding KAATSU into your pre-sleep routine 🙂
