We’ve been mulling over holding in-person KAATSU training sessions for therapists since we started KAATSU Canada. While there’s a lot of good information in the KAATSU Specialist Program, it’s geared for a more general user audience and not specifically for physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, massage therapists, athletic/personal trainers, and anyone who is applying KAATSU to someone as part of a therapy program.
I’m happy to say we delivered our first KAATSU Specialist Course for Therapists last month, on October 10th in Edmonton, Alberta. We had two physiotherapists, one occupational therapist, and one athletic trainer take the course. The main benefit of having an in-person course is that participants get hands-on experience with KAATSU and can feel what it’s like to both have KAATSU applied to them as well as how to apply it properly to another person. This is particularly important for those working with people in a rehabilitation context.
Welcome to our new KAATSU Specialists Fern, Mohanad, Chris, and Andrea!
