KAATSU Global has officially introduced the latest member of the KAATSU C-Series of products. The KAATSU C5 continues the evolution of the C-Series models, incorporating new features and streamlining the user experience. Here are some of the features being incorporated in the KAATSU C5.
Longer Battery Life
Personally, I've always found the KAATSU C4 to have a respectable battery life. As you may have read in my earlier posts, the KAATSU C4 can do approximately 36 sets of Cycle mode on Medium Pressure on arms and legs on a single charge. To put that into perspective, if you're using KAATSU two or three times a week as part of a resistance training program, you'll probably need to recharge your KAATSU once a week.
The KAATSU C5 battery holds more power. KAATSU Global's announcement says the C5's battery should last approximately 1.5 times longer than the C4. That's a pretty significant upgrade.
User-Replaceable Battery
The KAATSU C3 and C4 models were powered by an internal lithium-polymer rechargeable battery that has to be replaced by a KAATSU technician. The KAATSU C5 features a battery hatch allowing users to replace a discharged battery with a fresh one. I think this will be a boon to physiotherapy clinics and personal trainers as they'll be able to keep one or more spare batteries on hand to ensure they can use their KAATSU C5 devices all day.
Reduced Noise
A compressor's gotta do what a compressor's gotta do . . . and that means there is a distinct "buzz" when using KAATSU. With the KAATSU C5, compressor noise will be less noticeable. The form factor of the case is being adjusted to allow more insulative material to be added around the compressor motor. A quieter KAATSU experience is good for everyone.
More Programming Flexibility
KAATSU C-Series devices were designed to be simple for the average person to use. That simplicity was good, but it was sometimes a liability for more advanced or clinical users who were looking for more precision and flexibility. The KAATSU C5 introduces a new workflow that keeps the focus on the KAATSU Cycle but now allows a range of custom programming similar to what is available on the KAATSU Connect App for the B2. One major difference though is that custom programs can be saved on the KAATSU C5.
Attachment Point for Lanyard
I'm a fan of using a lanyard to keep hold of one's KAATSU unit during workouts. While the belt clip is a good idea, it isn't always appropriate for all users. The KAATSU C5 will feature an integrated lanyard attachment point and will come with a basic lanyard. The belt clip will still be there, but you will now have a choice.
BTW, for the KAATSU C3 and C4 models, you can use a D-ring to create a lanyard attachment point on the belt clip. If you need one, let me know. I bought a package of 100 to test out my theory . . . and then KAATSU Global went and added this to the C5!
What Else is New?
As with any product redevelopment, one expects that there will be a variety of improvements to the hardware. Some of the internal components are being upgraded so the expectation is that the KAATSU C5 will have a longer service life than previous models. Of course, we will still be here to provide warranty and post-warranty service for Canadian KAATSU customers.
New AirBands are coming for the KAATSU C5. The updated AirBands will have more flexibility and elasticity. As well, the air intake fittings are changing to reflect the focus on the KAATSU Cycle mode. Standard AirBands will no longer feature an internal valve in the fitting to hold in air as this is not a requirement in the KAATSU Cycle mode. For those clients who require AirBands to hold pressure while disconnected from air hoses, you will still be able to order AirBands with valved fittings.
When will the KAATSU C5 be Available?
KAATSU Global expects to start shipping the first KAATSU C5 units in mid-July. Depending on how things work out, we should be able to start shipping the KAATSU C5 to Canadian customers within two weeks of the C5's official release.
Will the KAATSU C5 Bundle be the same price as the C4 Bundle?
There are a lot of factors affecting the price of everything these days - and prices generally aren't getting lower. KAATSU Global has set the retail price of the KAATSU C5 Bundle $100 USD higher than the C4. As of today (April 20, 2026), we are still figuring out what to charge for the KAATSU C5 Bundle. Once we've made a decision, you'll see it on the website.
Personally, I'm excited about the C5 and am hoping to get my hands on a prototype when they become available. I'll be able to share more details about it then. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Thank you!
