For those of you who read my last blog post talking about how long the KAATSU B2 would run on a single charge, this blog post should come as no surprise. It’s a follow-up post, this time talking about the KAATSU C4’s battery life. And, it should be no surprise to anyone that the C4’s battery doesn’t last as long as the KAATSU B2.
Consider the following:
- The KAATSU C4 uses a single compressor, whereas the KAATSU B2 uses four compressors, each with its own battery.
- The KAATSU C4 has to inflate the arm bands AND the leg bands, so the compressor and battery is doing four times the work as each KAATSU B2 compressor.
I used the KAATSU C4 in Cycle mode, medium pressure, 6 sets on the arms, then 6 sets on the legs. These were the same settings as I used for the testing on the KAATSU B2.
So, how long was I able to do KAATSU?
36 Sets
Actually, that was pretty good, all things considered. This result was better than half of the 55 sets that the KAATSU B2 lasted through. I’m a little surprised, since the C4 compressor has to run so much longer than each compressor on the B2
How Long is 36 Sets in English?
The compression and decompression cycle for KAATSU is 35 seconds. Pressure is held for 30 seconds then released for 5. One Set of KAATSU has 8 pressure Steps. So, 35 x 8 brings you to 280 seconds per Set, plus some time for compression. That works out to a base of 4.67 minutes per Set. If you’re doing 6 Sets, that will take you 28 minutes, plus the time for compression. I usually round that up to 30 minutes.
36 Sets works out to around 3 hours of KAATSU. I used the KAATSU C4 over a couple of days before needing to recharge. This worked out to three sessions of KAATSU for me. Once Tuesday evening and two times yesterday. If you use KAATSU daily for 6 sets on arms, 6 sets on legs, in Cycle mode, on medium pressure, you’ll probably need to charge it every 3 days. If you’re using low pressure, you’d probably get another day out of it.
You will get the most benefit from KAATSU by using it every day. It’s not necessary to do resistance training with it every day. Most of the time, I’m wearing it at my desk. I’m wearing it now, as I’m typing. I can see and feel my hands and arms get engorged with blood, and as the pressure releases, I know that the endothelial cells that line my blood vessels are releasing extra Nitric Oxide, helping improve vascular elasticity.
Whether you use the KAATSU C4 or KAATSU B2, you’ll get the same, authentic KAATSU experience. The benefits of the KAATSU Cycle are only found with genuine KAATSU products. If you have any questions on how KAATSU can help you, please let me know. I’m here to help!
